The Origin of Inspector Gadget Gadget was originally a normal human. His real name was Donald Johnathan Gadget. He lived a happy and normal life until a mishap when he was 12 years old. He was on a stroll with his father Jules until a pair of thuggish men appeared. "Give us your money, or we'll have to bash your skull in!" Donald did not want his father to be harmed, so he impulsively kicked the two brutes in their shins. This was not a very good move, for one of the goons still took Jules's wallet anyway.
